Welcome to Darrin Johnson for Mayor, the campaign website for the City of Riverview's mayoral candidate. Darrin Johnson's mission is to create a better city for all of its residents. As a longtime resident of Riverview, Darrin has a deep understanding of the issues that affect our community. With a passion for helping others and dedication to being a public servant, Darrin has the necessary skills to find solutions, navigate complicated governmental issues, and to get things done for Riverview.
OUR FOCUS
"My campaign is built on the belief that every resident in Riverview deserves equal opportunities. I believe in creating a livable city with a safe atmosphere and excellent public services. I am committed to making Riverview a place where everyone can thrive, regardless of their background. The focus areas of my campaign, and ultimately, my administration include economic development, providing a better working environment for government employees, improving public safety, and beautifying Riverview. I believe that by addressing these issues, together we can build a city that works for everyone."

Better Working Environment
Since taking on an elected position in Riverview in April 2023, Darrin watched the morale at City Hall rapidly decline ultimately resulting in a 100% turnover. Under Darrin's leadership, Riverview City Hall will be a positive equal-opportunity working environment that promotes a healthy work-life balance. He will ensure residents have confidence that the city government is filled with competent, qualified and capable employees who are committed to providing a positive experience to all Riverview residents. Darrin has always been proud of how this community has remained diverse and his goal is to recruit and retain qualified employees to fulfill the roles, responsibilities and duties a municipal government is obligated to meet.

Economic Development
A thriving economy is the key to building a better community. Darring understands that supporting and attracting new small businesses to the community is necessary. He believes that by investing in our economy, we can create a city that works for everyone which is why he will designate a liaison at City Hall to encourage, support and attract new businesses to Riverview.
Community Clean-up
Darrin's goal is to revitalize and beautify the Riverview community. Under his leadership, he will implement a bulky item program to discourage illegal dumping as well as a regular street and litter cleaning effort. New and seasonal forestry will be planted throughout the community to foster a better environment and restore pride in Riverview.

Public Safety
Darrin is committed to making Riverview a safer place for everyone. His plan includes investing in community policing, increasing police accountability, and reducing crime. He believes that by prioritizing public safety, we can create a city where everyone feels safe and secure. Most importantly, Darrin wants to return the responsibility of policing back to the Police Department where it belongs.
Youth Development Opportunities
Darrin believes that every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. A youth development program could offer a variety of opportunities for kids and teens in the community to get involved in meaningful activities that help them grow and learn in a safe, supportive environment. With the addition of a new recreation center, Riverview can provide activities that encourage community involvement. He will advocate for funding to make this vision a reality in Riverview.
